Hey Friends! We got the first snow of the season here in Wisconsin today. And in case you’re wondering, yes, this is pretty early for us. I’m not ready! Ready for Christmas season? Sure! But not ready for 20 degrees and snowing.
But let’s talk about happier things, like this dresser makeover. I got this 3 drawer dresser from my mom. She had it for many years, and her parents had it for many years before that. She was ready to let it go, after she replaced it with this simple white antique dresser I painted.
It is quite plain and simple in its construction, but what better foundation for a stunning color and bling-y hardware?

By the way, check out my Comprehensive Guide to Dixie Belle Chalk Paint if you want more information about any of these products.
The color is Dixie Belle In the Navy, and it is so rich and saturated. It is the BEST navy paint color I have ever used. I tried out a new paint brush on this project too, Dixie Belle’s synthetic “mini”. It has a short handle that fits well in your hand, and it quickly became a favorite of mine. It gave such a smooth finish and even application. I have used it many times since, and I love it!
No repairs were needed, so the paint job was quick and easy. I painted 2 coats of In the Navy, and then 2 coats of Gator Hide (using the blue sponge applicator). Dixie Belle paint is quite thick, so I like keep my brush damp during painting by periodically dipping it in water.
I kept the original hardware, but gave it a little class with Rustoleum Rose Gold metallic spray paint.
I couldn’t resist snapping some pics with this little navy and gold chair I recently made over.
